Case Study: Heavy-Duty Torque Reaction Arm for Industrial Fastening
Share
HB Torque's application portfolio includes anti-torsion reaction arms for industrial tightening, including automotive fastening applications. The PRA series also provides torque-reaction support for assembly processes with catalog models rated up to 2000 Nm.
Application overview
High-torque fastening can transmit substantial reaction force back through the tightening tool. A reaction arm supports the tool and transfers this reaction into the arm structure while allowing the operator to move between fastening positions.
The fastening challenge
Reaction-arm selection depends on the tightening tool, target torque, bolt locations, required reach and workstation layout. The support structure must be configured around the actual tightening sequence rather than a generic torque value.
Solution approach
HB Torque offers pneumatic and mechanical reaction-arm configurations for different workstation requirements. For PRA-series applications, catalog configurations cover torque requirements up to 2000 Nm, with the exact arm and tool interface selected from the application data.
Engineering inputs
Provide tightening tool model, tool weight, target torque range, bolt positions, required working reach, workstation layout and photos or drawings.
