Cantilever and folding torque reaction arms: two floor-mounted fastening-support configurations engineered around the selected nutrunner, fastening area and workstation clearance.
Tool compatibility: custom interfaces can be evaluated for customer-owned Atlas Copco, Desoutter, Cleco, Ingersoll Rand and other industrial electric or pneumatic nutrunners. Brand names identify possible integration applications only; HB Torque does not claim affiliation, authorization or endorsement.
Choose the arm geometry that matches the fastening area
Both configurations support the tightening tool and absorb reaction torque, but their working geometry is different. The cantilever arm provides long, stable straight reach. The folding arm uses an articulated elbow to approach positions around the workpiece and retract into a smaller space.
Cantilever reaction arm
- Rigid floor-mounted column
- Long straight horizontal reach beam
- Upper tie rod for structural support
- Vertical reaction support at the outer end
- Best suited to open stations and linear fastening zones
Folding reaction arm
- Rigid floor-mounted column
- Two-segment articulated horizontal arm
- Flexible multi-angle access around the workpiece
- Compact retraction when the tool is not in use
- Best suited to stations with obstacles or changing approach positions
Industrial nutrunner integration
The arm geometry, vertical support and tool interface are configured around the actual electric or pneumatic nutrunner. Selection must consider the tool weight, center of gravity, target and maximum torque, output direction and accessories.
Typical applications
- Automotive and machinery assembly
- Powertrain and component fastening
- Line-side industrial bolting stations
- Repeated manual tightening requiring ergonomic torque support
Information required for configuration
- Tool brand, model, weight and accessories
- Target torque and maximum reaction torque
- Required working radius and bolt coordinates
- Fastening direction and approach angles
- Mounting location and available floor space
- Nearby equipment, obstacles and operator movement path
The displayed price is a reference starting configuration. Final pricing depends on arm style, reach, tool interface, mounting hardware and optional controls.
Frequently asked questions
Which style is best for long straight coverage?
The cantilever layout is usually the better starting point for open workstations with linear fastening zones.
Which style is better around obstacles?
The folding layout offers articulated access and compact retraction, making it suitable for more complex workstation geometry.
Are these lifting cranes?
No. They are fastening reaction-arm systems designed to support industrial nutrunners, not general material-handling cranes.
