HB Torque integrates the YEBO B046 positioning sensors and SPC-COM controller into a position-controlled tightening workstation for bolt-location verification, poka-yoke fastening and operator error proofing. The system combines a torque reaction arm, rigid tool clamp, draw-wire sensors, positioning logic and application fixture around the customer’s actual bolt pattern and working envelope.

Atlas Copco and ESTIC references describe compatible integration targets only. Third-party tightening tools may be customer-supplied or project-specified and are not included unless stated in the formal quotation.

YEBO B046 Position-Controlled Tightening Workstation

The B046 package monitors tool position while the operator moves through the fastening sequence. Position data is sent to the SPC-COM controller, allowing the workstation logic to verify whether the tool is at the intended bolt location before or during the tightening process.

This makes the B046 suitable for assembly stations where tightening sequence, bolt-position verification and process error proofing are more important than simple torque reaction support alone.

Typical Applications

  • Automotive chassis and subassembly tightening
  • Battery tray and battery pack assembly
  • Large multi-bolt fixtures
  • Engine, axle and powertrain assembly
  • Mixed-model production with position-dependent tightening programs
  • Poka-yoke assembly stations requiring bolt-position verification

Key Capabilities

  • XYZ position monitoring: draw-wire or configured positioning sensors track workstation movement.
  • Bolt-position verification: controller logic can confirm that the tightening tool is operating at the intended fastening location.
  • Poka-yoke support: position data can be used as part of an error-proofed tightening sequence.
  • Rigid tool mounting: the nutrunner is clamped to the reaction arm instead of suspended freely.
  • Third-party tool integration: compatible Atlas Copco, ESTIC and other industrial nutrunners can be evaluated.
  • Expandable controls: barcode readers, socket selectors, PLC signals and traceability functions can be incorporated when required.

SPC-COM Positioning Controller

  • 7-inch true-color touchscreen
  • Positioning-control platform for workstation guidance
  • Selectable I/O configurations
  • RS485 digital-sensor interface options
  • 0–10 V analog-sensor interface options
  • Software configurations for angle and displacement sensing

Available Sensor Configurations

The B046 catalog structure supports one, two or three RS485 sensor interfaces, one or two 0–10 V analog sensor interfaces, and software arrangements for combinations of angle and displacement measurement. Draw-wire sensor travel options are available from approximately 1 m to 3.5 m depending on the selected configuration.

Final sensor quantity, travel range, mounting position and software logic are selected from the actual reaction-arm geometry and bolt coordinates.

Atlas Copco & ESTIC Tightening Tool Integration

HB Torque engineers the mechanical clamp, torque reaction arm, sensor positions, controller logic and fixture interface around the exact tightening tool. Compatibility should be confirmed from torque range, tool weight, head geometry, handle position and socket access.

MES / PLC / Traceability Integration

Where required, position verification can be combined with tightening result data, barcode identification and PLC or MES communication. The exact handshake, program-selection logic, position tolerance and result fields are defined during project engineering.

Information Needed for Engineering Review

  • Tightening tool brand and exact model
  • Target torque and fastening orientation
  • Bolt coordinates and tightening sequence
  • Required X/Y/Z working range
  • Fixture or workpiece drawing
  • Allowed position tolerance
  • Barcode, PLC, MES or traceability requirements

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a position-controlled tightening workstation?

It is a tightening station that combines tool-position sensing with fastening process control so the system can verify that the operator is working at the intended bolt location.

Can the B046 help prevent tightening the wrong bolt?

Yes. Position information can be incorporated into the tightening sequence as part of a poka-yoke strategy, subject to the required tolerance and workstation geometry.

Can it be used with Atlas Copco or ESTIC nutrunners?

Selected models can be integrated after the tool torque, geometry and mounting method are reviewed.

Can position control be connected to MES or PLC systems?

Yes. Position status, product identification and tightening results can be incorporated into a broader control and traceability architecture where the available interfaces support the required data exchange.
